Privacy Policy
Effective October 28, 2026
evolens is an iPhone app for keeping track of your Pokémon TCG cards. You don’t create an account, and the app has no ads, no tracking and no third-party analytics. Your collection stays on your iPhone. This policy explains what the app keeps on your device, what it sends and to whom, and why.
What stays on your iPhone
- Your collection: the cards and copies you add, their printing, condition, grade and certificate number, your collections, favorites, and settings. These are stored only on your device. We can’t see them, and they aren’t synced to our servers. iOS includes them in your iPhone backups.
- The camera: evolens uses the camera only to recognize cards while you scan. Video is processed on your iPhone and is never uploaded. While a scan is under way, the app may keep small images of the cards it saw in its own temporary storage on your device. It deletes them when the scan session ends.
Deleting the app deletes all of this from your iPhone.
What leaves your iPhone
Market prices
To show card values, the app asks our pricing service (run by evolens on Cloudflare) for the cards you view or own. Each request includes the card and printing identifiers, the condition being priced, and whether that card is in your collection. We use that last part only to keep prices fresh for cards people own, and we store it per card, not per person.
Requests are verified with Apple’s App Attest. Your iPhone creates a random key for this; it isn’t your Apple ID, name or email. Our service stores that key so it can check requests and limit their rate. It also uses your IP address briefly to limit how often new keys are registered. We don’t use any of this to identify you.
Card images
Card pictures and set symbols are downloaded from the evolens image server (on Cloudflare) and from public card-image hosts (TCGdex, pokemontcg.io and Scrydex). Like any web request, those servers receive your IP address and which image was requested.
evolens Pro subscriptions
Apple handles payment for subscriptions. We never see your payment details. We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions. RevenueCat receives an anonymous ID created by the app, your purchase and subscription history from the App Store, and technical details such as your device model, iOS version, app version, App Store country, preferred language and Apple’s per-app device identifier (IDFV). RevenueCat uses these only to check whether you have Pro and to restore your purchases.
Links to other sites
Links to marketplaces such as TCGplayer and eBay open in your browser. Those sites’ own privacy policies apply there.
